Musculoskeletal imaging in pain management
Dr. PSS Kiran is an MD Radiodiagnosis physician with additional fellowship training in Pain Management and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal imaging, musculoskeletal ultrasound and the imaging evaluation of pain-related conditions.
His role at Halcyon focuses on the radiological evaluation of musculoskeletal and pain conditions, combining clinical information with relevant imaging such as X-rays, MRI and ultrasound.
Why imaging matters in pain management
An abnormality seen on an MRI or X-ray does not always mean it is the actual source of a patient’s pain. Imaging findings need to be understood in the context of the patient’s symptoms and clinical examination.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound gives a real-time view of muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and peripheral nerves, which helps assess many musculoskeletal conditions dynamically, as they move.

Dr. Kiran’s background in Radiodiagnosis, together with his additional training in Pain Management and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, allows him to provide focused musculoskeletal ultrasound evaluation, imaging correlation and radiological assistance for image-guided pain procedures in collaboration with Dr. Dasyam Pallavi. His expertise complements her interventional pain practice, so the clinical and imaging information are considered together as part of an individualised approach to each patient.
